How does pop culture permeate our life? This question seems inevitable watching Lamento, a romance in which a couple quarrel with the help of Micheal Jackson, Beyoncé and many others. Every move is meticulously choreographed in a space that is a replica of a sitcom stage, and the reason for their fighting is somehow ignored or forgotten. Staged as a musical, refined and witty, Lamento meditates on how pop culture, slowly but surely, is colonising our souls.
